The lyrical poems of Shāh Walī-Allāh, who was a native of Gujarāt, but passed the greatest part of his life in the Deccan. He is believed to be the first poet who wrote a complete Diwān in the Urdū language.
Or Ms 379: مراثی هاشم علی Marāsī-yi Hāshim ‘Alī, 1193 A.H., 1779 C.E.
The marāsī, or elegies, on ‘Alī b. Abī Ṭālib (d. 40 A.H., 661 C.E.), the first Shī‘ī Imām and fourth Rāshīdūn Caliph, as well as his sons and grandsons. The author, Hāshim ‘Alī, is considered the first poet to write poetry in the Urdū language.
This manuscript is the first volume (see Or. Ms. 380 for vol. 2).

A collection of seventy-six short stories translated from Arabic and Persian.
Or Ms 382: قصّها Qiṣṣahā, undated
A few short tales of the wisdom of birds. In the last tale, the compiler has described the condition of Calcutta (Kolkata) and Monghir as it existed during his time. At the end there is a short selection from the poems of the celebrated Mirzā Muḥammad Rafī‘, poetically styled 'Sawdā' of Dehli (d. 1195 A.H., 1781 C.E.).
